The Question:

Thank you for the answer on my Patellar tendonitis situation. I have implemented the eccentric movement of a dumbbell lunge: upon reaching the bottom of the movement, the athlete drops both dumbbells and performs a DB rdl. My problem guy really likes the exercise, there's no pain. I coined them "Lunging negatives w/ RDL", though I'm sure they've been done before.

The Answer:

Great thought process on the Lunging Negatives and dropping the dumbbells to reduce the weight on the concentric portion. There is actually a phenomenal leg press machine out there called the Agaton that does an incredible job of controlling eccentric/concentric loading parameters but it costs about $35,000 so that counts out even the "big" schools like Arizona!
