The Question:

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WITH PROPER EATING AND BUILDING MUSCLE MASS, IS THERE A PROPER WAY TO TAKE DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS WHERE IT DOESNT INTERFERE WITH THE BODYBUILDING PROCESS? CAN YOU USE TOO MANY SUPPLEMENTS?

The Answer:

The foundation of any exercise program should be a healthy, well balanced diet. That said, supplements are best used as a tool to help the busy person fill in the holes in their diet. It is possible to overdo supplements. It depends on what supplements you are talking about. It also depends on whether you are in a bulking phase or cutting phase of your training. If you are eating nothing but power bars and protein shakes then you are definitely overdoing it!

For the bulking phase of bodybuilding what I recommend is Creatine, a protein supplement/meal replacement, and a quality multivitamin. I recommend the protein supplement be taken in between meals and after training. During the cutting phase I would add some extra cardio and a thermogenic stimulator. However, be wary of any thermogenics containing Ephedra or its herbal version Mau Haung, it can negatively affect some people.
