The Question:

I have a Weider 8530 workout station. It contains stations to perform seated bench, squats, lat bar pull downs, seated press, seated flyes, leg raises, low cable rows, upright rows, one arm cable pulls, leg extensions and curls.

Can my workout be cofigured to this machine?
If not,where can I obtain a decent workout routine.


The Answer:

This will take me some time to get these specific pieces of equipment into our system. However, you can switch out any of the exercises on any program I have made with similar exercises. I have given you some of the names of the exercises you may have to put into your program to perform the exercises on your Weider machine. I would try out one of the Get Lean Programs or one of the General Fitness Programs to start. Then, just make any exercise adjustments that are needed. Click on "how to update my program" at the top of every workout page to learn more about switching exercises!

Here are the simple names of your exercises and then what I call them on our site.

Seated Bench - switch to Vertical Chest Press or to a free weight Bench Press if possible.

Squats - No problem here, you can change it to leg press if you would like.

Lat Bar Pull Downs - switch this to Lat Pulldowns Wide Grip Front or one of the other variations.

Seated Press - switch to Machine Shoulder Press

Seated Flyes - switch to one of the Dumbbell Fly variations or try out the Machine Pec Deck or Cable Crossovers.

Leg Raises - this is an abdominal exercise that usually does not require the use of weight. I call this exercise Hanging Bent Knee Leg Raises on our site.

Low Cable Rows - switch to Machine Lat Row

Upright Rows - switch to Cable Upright Rows

One Arm Cable Pulls - swith to One Arm Cable Rows

Leg Extensions and Curls - no problem here
