The Question:

I started your "Get Lean" Program, as you recommended to help train for my grappling/jujitsu endeavors. I have found that all of my previous lifting has been 10 reps or less (usually 3-8 reps), and geared for power. My strength was always good, but this high rep workout is killing me ( in a good way )! I find that I have to lower the weights to half of the values on the high rep days to keep the lactose from burning my limbs off. What can I do about that?

Also, what are Stretch Deadlifts? Are they Stiff-Leg Deadlifts? And what are Vertical Chest Presses? Like Military Press but with the bar in front of the head? And finally, what in the heck are Reverse Hypers? I don't even know what to guess. None of these exercises have verbal descriptions and my computer can't make use of any of the videos.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

The Answer:

You will need to get MS Media Player or RealPlayer to view videos. Try either of the links below to download one of the applications.

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer
http://www.realplayer.com/

Thanks for starting a program with us. You will get used to the higher reps. It will be tough but it will be great for your body. The reps will come down a little and the weights will go up as you progress through the 12 weeks of training. This will be a great change for you. Once you have completed the 12 weeks of the Get Lean Program you can switch into the General Fitness Program. Then, move into the Strength and Power Program. I will continue to work on the Martial Arts Program for you! You need to download one of the programs mentioned above so you can see the actual exercise videos. They will show you exactly what everything is. Just click on the exercise name in your program and the computer will take you right there!
