The Question:

I am interested in putting on some muscle. I am a very hard gainer. It is very difficult for me to gain weight. I lift about five to six days a week and try to eat a lot. Sometimes it is hard to make myself eat. So can you give my some training advice and maybe some advice on how I can increase my appetite. Also what supplements to you recommend for the hard gainer.

The Answer:

First of all you should check out the nutrition section on our web site. This can be found at the Fitness Info button located on the top right hand side of our web page. Or you can click on this URL to go straight to it: http://www.fitrex.com/nutrition.shtml

Then, get on the 4 Day Strength and Power program or the Express variation of this program. The Bodybuilding program will also help you to get massive! I have had people gain up to 40 pounds of bodyweight in a 12 week time period with these programs. The smallest body weight gain that I have seen in a person that does all the training and proper eating is 8 lbs in this 12 week period.

If you are on one of the Strength and Power or Bodybuilding programs, you should look into taking a creatine supplement and a meal replacement powder at the very least. Also, you can read more about creatine by typing in the word "creatine" in the Search section located on our home page.

It is important to get a quality protein source in your body throughout the day. For convenience sake, a quality meal replacement powder like Met-Rx, Myoplex, Lean Body, or Met Max are awesome. Try to get one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. All of this type of info is located in our Nutrition section.

Train consistantly, eat a bunch of quality foods (check out our nutrition information section), sleep 8-10 hours every night and you will get bigger. We have the plan, you need to do the hard part by doing the work! Crank it up!
